A horrifying chain-reaction crash in the heart of Bangkok left at least eight people dead and more than two dozen injured Saturday after a train slammed into traffic and triggered a massive fire that swallowed a public bus in flames.

Terrified witnesses watched in shock as fireballs and thick black smoke erupted across a busy roadway after the violent collision involving a train, a packed bus, cars, and motorcycles on Asok-Din Daeng Road in Thailand’s capital city.

Emergency crews rushed to the chaotic scene as survivors screamed for help from inside mangled wreckage while firefighters battled the raging inferno with water hoses.

Officials said at least 25 people were hurt in the disaster, with some victims reportedly trapped inside vehicles as the fire spread rapidly through the crash site.

Rescue workers desperately searched through twisted metal and burned debris, pulling injured passengers to safety while firefighters fought to stop the blaze from spreading to nearby vehicles.

Authorities confirmed the fire has since been brought under control, but crews remained on scene cooling down hot spots, venting gas, and searching for additional victims hours after the deadly crash.

Shocking images from the scene showed scorched vehicles piled near the railroad crossing as smoke filled the air and emergency sirens echoed through the city.

Investigators are now working to determine exactly what caused the catastrophic collision.

The tragedy has stunned residents in Bangkok and sparked renewed concerns over traffic and railway safety in heavily congested parts of the city.
