A Las Vegas woman is facing prison time after pleading guilty to a shocking scheme that spiraled into something even more disturbing.
Haleigh Knight admitted to felony theft after allegedly scamming a longtime friend and her family out of nearly $20,000 — but that was just the beginning.
According to investigators, Knight convinced people she was a luxury travel content creator working with the Four Seasons, offering them a chance to join exclusive trips and get paid for creating content.
The trips never happened.
When victims started asking for their money back, Knight allegedly doubled down — claiming she had pancreatic cancer.
Police say she went all in on the lie, even posting fake treatment updates on TikTok and using the diagnosis as an excuse for why plans kept falling through.
Authorities later say she admitted it was all fake.
Investigators believe she used the money to cover personal expenses and support her children.
But the deception didn’t stop there.
Knight also allegedly told others she had access to exclusive influencer deals on luxury items, convincing one woman to send money for a Rolex — only for Knight to disappear shortly after.
Another victim, a cancer survivor, said she gave money, gifts, and emotional support, believing Knight was seriously ill — only to later find out it was all a lie.
The scam started to fall apart when victims contacted a major cancer hospital and were told there was no record of Knight ever being treated.
According to court documents, Knight even admitted she faked the diagnosis in part to gain sympathy and keep people close to her.
She is set to be sentenced in June and could face up to five years behind bars, though probation is still on the table.
She’s also been ordered to pay nearly $20,000 in restitution.
